Exclamation Buying a 1998 Legacy Sedan

Hey, I am going to look at a legacy on sunday, and have never owned a Subaru before and dont know what to look for. It has a new timing belt, brakes and regular check ups at a subaru dealer and 226,000km/140,000miles. What should I be looking for when I see it? I can fix/replace any part but is there any specific part(s) I should know about? Where are the main rust spots?

    Thanks!

It's over 10 years old so look at the struts and coil springs, CV joints, tie-rod ends, and rear cross-member (takes a lot of abuse from road salts in the winter and water spray). Common rust spots are sheet metal joints, wheel wells and quarter panels. Check the trunk and lower door seals for integrity. Suby boxer engines tend to be pretty bulletproof, but look for any leaks as these seem to be pretty robust ponies so leaks are unusual.
