Automatic gearbox on my 2005 Legacy causing a shudder at certain speeds. Subaru dealers say it is caused (wholly or partly) by my having replaced just one tyre because of a sidewall bulge, at a time when the tyres were about half way through their normal useful life, and that because of the 4-wheel-drive, the difference between the consequent radius of that wheel/tyre and that of the other three has damaged the automatic gearbox, and it will cost several thousand euro to repair.

Is this a recognised problem? Can anyone make any comment, please?
