    Default Head light circuit diode?

I just aquired a used 95 legacy wagon. I took it to my garage for a safety check. The mechanic tells me the head lights don't work. He traced it to a missing diode in a wire bundle behind the glove box. I can't imagine how it went missing. Anyway he says he can't find a replacement diode locally. He said he called the Subaru dealer and they didn't know what he was talking about.

Anyone familiar with these diodes? Are they available?

    Many Thanks

    Jim B.

Many Thanks. My mechanic has also contacted a wrecking yard. He's waiting on a response from them.
It would most likely help to have a subaru part number.

A yard salvage or someone parting out a car may be the best idea. I can find the diode on the circuit diagram but not anywhere else in Subaru Parts lists.

    Thank you for your reply.

As it turned out my mechanic went to radio shack and got a $5 diode and soldered it it. It worked fine.
I got my subaru on the road and just love driving it.

    Cheers
