I'm working on a megasquirt project. I'm trying to use the injection system from a subaru legacy ~90 on my old Opel Kadett B -73...
i was wondering about the idle air control. Is it a stepper motor or is it used by pulse width modulation?
Does anyone have a good guide to this model?

Autodata software says that AY/EJ18 -motor uses 2.5 bar fuel pressure.. but i bet this is for the multipoint injection..
Monopoints often have something like 0,7 bar
Yeah I think you are right about the fuel pressure, it sounds high to me too but I have checked it against two different sorces and get the same readings. I do not know the pressure readings in bar but in PSI the pressures should be 20-24PSI at idle with a maximun of 36-50PSI. Kind of a broad range on the max pressure but thats what the manual says. Oh yes, I was wrong about the IAC motor too before, it is not a stepper motor.
20-24PSI is about 1.4-1.65 bar, and 36-50PSI is from 2.5bar to 3.5bar...
So i should be able to get it running with 2.5 bar =).. if the squirt-time gets too short during idle, i have to drop the pressures for idle... that shouldn't happen as i have 290 cam
good thing the IAC isn't stepper, as that is tricky to get working on megasquirt. I should be able to PWM-control it then =)
I am curious about megasquirt. I have herd about them but never been able to talk with anyone that has used it. If you get a chance let me know how you like or dislike that setup. I would love to pick your brain about it. Your welcome for the info too, glad I could help.
