    Smile 1990 Legacy 1.8 ltr has no spark

    Greetings Guys,

    Trying to help my daughter with her car and the info I have right now before going to look and troubleshoot the problem is that she is not getting any spark at the plugs. I am assuming this engine has ignition packs instead of a distributor, but I could be wrong. If you are familar with this engine, give me some ideas of what the most common problem is, where it's located and how I can verify it is defective. Let's not assume that the coil packs were ok, where do we go from there after they can be verified good.

    Appreciate any input,

    Thanks, Charles

    Hey Charles;

    If its not the coil I almost guarantee its the ignition module. It is located on the firewall right in the middle towards the top. It is a flat module with a flat 4-6 pin plug. That is usually the problem. A quick cheap junkyard fix.
