Default 2003, no go when in gear

I have a 2003 Forester, stick shift, and it suddenly decided to act as if the brakes are on when we let up on the clutch. The engine starts fine, shifts into gear smoothly, but when I let up on the clutch if feels as if the emergency brake were still on. Any ideas what might be the problem?

does this happen when you go straight, or when turning?

Default It's something to do with the brake system

Had it towed in, and it seems to be related to the brake system. Perhaps to do with the "anti-roll back" system
