Default Outback 2008 - Lights won't go out!

Has anyone experienced this before? It started just this afternoon. Even with all light switches in the off position, the car turned off, and the key removed, my running lights, including tail lights, are still lighted! Is there some stupid thing I've done or not done, or do you know of any easy fixes I can try before my battery is dead? Thanks!

OK, it was something stupid... Just in case it happens to someone else with an Outback about the same age as mine -- there is a switch on the steering column, on top, behind the steering wheel. I must have inadvertently flicked it with the cuff of my winter jacket when I was reaching to reset my trip odometer. There are no warning lights and bells or etc., to let you know you've done this. So after AAA jump started the dead battery, so I could drive to my dealer, I'm good to go, if somewhat embarrassed... If you have a newer model, apparently this will not be an issue for you, as the location of that switch has been changed.

Was there a symbol over the switch? If so, what did it look like?

It looks like a P, with rays of light coming off of it.
