    Default Knock Sensor 2000 Forester

So the dealer told me I need a knock sensor thus the reason my check engine light is on. I don't want to pay them for the part or to install it so I'm off to Pep Boys Auto parts here in Tucson. Get the sensor, install it and guess what...still tons of knock but the good part is...the dealership was correct. the check engine light is now off. HA!

Any suggestion would be welcome and thanks in advance

Have you tried an octane booster for your fuel?

No I have not tried octane booster. I have used the highest octane gas. Also, the "check engine " light seems to go on and off so I think the problem goes deeper than just octane.

    Thanks for your suggestion!
