Hi folks! My name's Greg and I have a question for you.

I'm currently going through smog hell in California where I live. I need to know if my 1987 GL wagon (4WD, 5spd, 1.8L ea82, non-turbo, fuel injected calif. ) has 1 or 2 catalytic converters?

It has a Y-pipe coming right off the heads with a big bulge where they meet with an O2 sensor sticking out of it. I always thought that was the cat, but parts houses show a "rear" cat on the back pipe.

The enviro-nazis out here keep tightening the specs for vehicles exponentially as they get older and now a guy can't even buy a new cat for his own car anywhere in the state! I have found one manufacturer that sells Cal approved cats on the web and I need to know if there is 1 or 2 cats on my car.

Thanks for any help you can give me.
