Hey guys, my bro has a bit of a problem. Hes seeing coolant in his oil. (green bubbles in it) He has the 2.5l 4cl engine in that. Yesterday it was overheating cause his thermostat went out. He said it ran a little hotter after the new thermostat, but it stopped overheating. So, any ideas? Blown head gasket maybe? If it is, how hard is it to change if that is it? He does have a Chilton manual, but hes doesn't have any experience with that kinda stuff. Thanks for any info!

99% head gasket. There are very few coolant-oil interfaces in the engine so the head gasket is the place to start. Have a compression test dones on the cylinders.

a compression test will show if its the gasket?

It may show one cylinder blowing by (low compression) and not developing enough pressure in an otherwise fine engine. They can pressure test the radiator/coolant system also, although that generally won't show enough pressure to reveal a head gasket issue.
