View Full Version : Help! 09 wrx slid into curb!

Last night on a downslope corner with 1 inch of snow on top of ice, I slid into the curb at about 5mph.
The wheel is pushed back, the swingarm is bent, the anti sway bushing is cracked.
Anyone have any idea on cost before I call my insurance company.
I am so bummed today, I had to hold lots of left steering to go straight to get it home.
It's only six weeks old!

Um, I don't know the exact price, but expect $80-$100 per labor hour! Then about $50 for the sway bushing (you could just get aftermarket ones to change both sides at once), $200 for the swing arm. Those are aftermarket costs, so I don't know what the dealer would charge. It might be cheaper to pay your insurance deductible, so I would have an estimate before you do anything!
I can't believe it bent the arm like that at just 5 mph........

I know, it was a slow slide, but a downhill angle, made a positively cringe inducing wham! my wife backed our old car into a poll going slower and it totally crushed the bumper in, the plastic anyway. sometimes, it doesn't take much.
Thanks for the info, I keep a high ins deduct, just hoping it for around $500.
The bad part is now it is no longer "new". now it'll probably squeak, rattle and fall apart someday.
