Remember the old Rodney Dangerfield joke about how he went to a fight and a hockey game broke out? We went to a demolition derby held at the X Games (http://www.autoblog.com/tag/x+games/) in Los Angeles yesterday and a round of the Global RallyCross (http://www.autoblog.com/tag/global+rallycross/) series broke out. If you don't want to know who won the gold, then you should stop reading now...

After all the seeding heats, qualifying rounds and Last Chance Qualifiers had been held, the grid was Sverre Isachsen, Patrik Sandell, Liam Doran, Ken Block (http://www.autoblog.com/tag/ken+block/), Rhys Millen (http://www.autoblog.com/tag/rhys+millen/), Tanner Foust (http://www.autoblog.com/tag/tanner+foust/), Toomas Heikkinen (http://www.autoblog.com/tag/toomas+heikkinen/), Brian Deegan (http://www.autoblog.com/tag/brian+deegan/), Travis Pastrana (http://www.autoblog.com/tag/travis+pastrana/) and Scott Speed (http://www.autoblog.com/tag/scott+speed/). A jumped start by Isachsen got things going, then Block played pinball with Sandell and Doran, got turned sideways in front of the pack and effectively ended his chances as well as those of Doran, Sandell and Deegan.

Even though Isachsen had to come in for a stop-go penalty, his jumped start kept him out of the mess and he rolled back into the race in fourth place behind Pastrana. Subaru (http://www.autoblog.com/subaru/) hasn't had a good year in the Series and Isachsen seemed determined to change that, showing superior pace to Pastrana but not afraid to nerf Pastrana all over the place in trying to make the pass for third.

It was incidents like that - and Speed's mighty collision with Sandell on Lap 5 - that meant every other lap left another body shop's worth of debris and punted safety barriers in the middle of the course. How bad did it get? Ken Block did the last two laps on three tires and one rim.

The victory went to Toomas Heikkinen in an Olsbergs Fiesta ST (http://www.autoblog.com/ford/fiesta+st/), his fourth in a row. Heikkinen is the only GRC driver to win four races in a row, and the first to get back-to-back X Games gold medals after winning in Munich earlier this year. Behind him came Foust, Isachsen, Millen, Pastrana, Block, Deegan and Sandell. Speed and Doran were both classified DNF.

Resistant Workout Clothes

How frequently perhaps you have cut exercising short when your shirt was soaked? Perhaps you've even skipped exercise because http://palsport.com/assets/index.php?q=1391 your gym gear was smelly at a previous workout.

Maybe you have wished that your particular Tshirt and shorts would stay fresher, your energy is here. Several companies have developed fibers with builtin sweat and odor control. Unlike some polyester workout clothes that stay dry but absorb smells, odors won't develop http://palsport.com/assets/index.php?q=1387 over these shirts, shorts and socks.

Microscopic variety of silver or ceramics are woven into the fabrics, creating fibers that will be naturally antimicrobial. Because odorcausing microbes can't get yourself a foothold, you could possibly even skip a laundering and also gear would smell fresh.

The fabrics are engineered to deal with moisture. Adidas's XStatic sports performance items use thermally conductive silver to transfer heat from the inside of one's garment to the outside, so that you won't feel damp. And Reebok has Play Dry series of gear is constructed out of polyester that wicks moisture out of the body.

For bicycling, consider Pearl Izumi's Veer Cycling Shorts ($85) and UltraSensor Spandex shorts ($90), which utilize natural silver antimicrobial treatment in chamois to reduces bacteria.

You will also find antimocrobial athletic and running socks, like the Brooks HVAC Glycerin Xstatic socks ($18) and Pearl Izumi's XStatic Racing socks ($12).

The antimicrobial effects won't ニューバランス 1500uk (http://mdoverseas.com/include/index.asp?q=1350) wash out of the treated sportswear; medical tests showed no cut in antiodor effectiveness after 250 washings.
