View Full Version : engine warning light on - is supermarket fuel the cause? Outback 2.5 SE

I just bought a 2005 Outback 2.5SE with 67K miles on the clock. Very clean car, and my first Subaru. I hadn't even got it the 25 miles to my house when the engine warning light came on and the cruise kicked out. I rang the dealer and he correctly summised that I had just filled up with fuel and that it was from a supermarket (tesco). He said I can take it back to be re-set, but I'll have to use that tank of fuel first and fill up from a main filling station beforehand. Is this common, or should I take it back and tell him to fix the problem?
