Hello all. No, I am not a current owner ... Right now I own a 2002 Mazda protege ES which Ive been working on for a few years now. Ill be graduating in May and hopefully will be hired to a salaried job at that point. So within the next couple of years I will hopefully be purchasing my subaru.
What I want is a 04-06 STI, black, manual tranny. I just thought Id register now to get an idea for what mods Ill want since Ill def. be going all out with this one.
Cheers! Keith S.

I think the Mazda Protege is a great car, but the STI is definitely a better car and is more well-rounded. Make sure to invest in lund parts, which is high-quality.

Since you are buying used, I would spend the money to have a compression and leakdown test first...

...then, we know for sure if it's safe to increase the power.

If you can get the wagon. They might not look as nice without a huge spoiler on the back but they are better imo.

i would either get the 2005 or the 2007 Models. they were the better platforms. better blocks and the 2007 had a better transmission.

the STI will be a very good upgrade. This coming from a previous Mazda owner myself used to own a low 11sec Mazda MX-3. cant beat the AWD.
