Is there a reason why the A/C comes on when you turn selector to defrost. We perfer to keep it on DF most of the time. The A/C will always be on. Whats up with this?

Anyone else have this issue?

Most modern cars have this "feature", I believe it is primarily to dry the air going onto the windshield, but mainly to keep the AC compressor lubricated.

Above 30 degrees is the usual for when it comes on, below 30, it probably will not come on. I guess they figure that if it is below 30, it's to cold to be damp out.
