View Full Version : Used Subaru cars - Good or Bad ?

I'd love to get a used Subaru as it seems to be the car that would meet my needs. New is too expensive and out of range but some used ones seem just fine. I'm looking into either a Forester or Legacy, which always seem to have a mileage around 90000km+ , I wouldn't want to buy anything above 130 000km...I hear Subaru' are pretty tough but is that an exaggeration ?

My niece has one and it's awesome! It's better than a 4 wheel drive truck in the snow! By the way, her's is a Legacy.

this is just my opinion...don't buy a subaru! My first boyfriend bought me a BRAND-NEW Subaru Stationwagon when we were expecting our first child.. I was excited for about 3 hrs.. the rubber lining in the trunk and the doors were already coming out ( the car had only like 12 miles on it) the seats were uncomfortable..and i remember being totally unhappy with it..i mean a new car????? we always had some kind of repair or something that needed to be done. But IT WAS A NEW CAR.. it still pisses me off when I think about it...i stick with fords now and they have never let me down....

Subaru's are very reliable. I had a '93 impreza L with 26x,xxx miles on it before i traded it in for an STi shortblock + installation.

Just make sure that it has been well maintained and you should be golden. :D
